Unfortunately, as in any place in the world, there are those who are less fortunate than us, whether by loss of job, addiction, physical infirmity, or by unwise decisions. We have the poor and afflicted around us all the time. There is no difference in the Lakewood area. Yesterday. we went as a family on our church outreach. It was so exciting to see Gideon's enthusiasm at knocking on doors to bring the love of Christ and the hope of salvation to different people. It was also amazing to see his broken heart when he didn't get an opportunity to pray out loud like the adults before we left. It was a lesson to his father. Take the time to listen to the little ones. He is able to mold and shape their faith at such an early age and it should be a lesson to us all. We also were able to see a a new brother come into our family. Domingo, a gentleman from Lima, Peru, came to know our Lord and Savior yesterday. Praise to God for claiming one of his own. More exciting was the fact that from this ministry a new vision is begging to be cast in the form of TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) classes in several of the Hispanic apartment complexes around Lakewood. This area is so unique from the large Hasidic community and the Hispanic community that works for them. The culture variations blow your mind. We are beginning to see why God brought us here. If we can minister here. we can minister anywhere. Please continue to pray for us as we reach out to our neighbors and strangers, and that God would give us wisdom and the expertise as we endeavor to start TESOL classes. We love you all.
Ken, Trina, and Gideon.
